Drinking water is the easiest step to take in turning your health around. I say it’s the easiest step but do I drink enough water? No. I know it’s time to get it together when my face is dry and cracking and my pores are clogged. It’s REALLY time when I start getting break outs in areas of my face where I am not prone to break out. This is basically where I am at right now. I have been getting a ton of break outs, blackheads and whiteheads on my chin and a bit around my mouth. I have never broken out in this area before. I know they say if you break out here it’s most likely hormonal, which I don’t doubt, though also I don’t think you should be only drinking tea, coffee or alcohol. My dad always says, “there’s water in coffee and there’s water in beer so that counts!” But ya know what, I don’t think it does.
I am a creature of habit, big time. If I don’t do something I won’t do it until I have a revaluation that I need a life change. In order for me to make a change, like drinking more water, I need to break it down into a schedule. If I don’t I will go all day with maybe one glass of water and then at 10 o’clock at night I will have to drink a half a gallon – which would not be ideal for obvious reasons.
How much water should you drink in a day?
I’ve always heard you should drink half of your body weight, in ounces. So if you weigh 200 pounds you should drink 100 ounces of water per day. I have not weighed myself in awhile and quite frankly I don’t feel like it, so I’m just going to guess.
My goal is to drink a gallon of water per day. Here is the water schedule I will be using on the days that I go to work, keep in mind I work 10 hour shifts. On the days that I am off it’s easier to remember to drink water so I won’t follow a schedule.
One gallon = 128 ounces
8 ounces (one glass, I measured) with my morning vitamins.
40 ounces in my Hydro Flask that I bring to work.
33.8 ounces in the large LIFE WTR that I get in the cafeteria at work, I get two of them.
33.8 ounces (second bottle of water).
12 ounces in one La Croix can which I have with dinner.
Add everything up and it’s 127.6 ounces. Almost 128 for my full gallon so I drink a little extra at night after my CBD oil and I call it a day!
I’ve noticed a difference in just one day. My skin feels less tight, my joints feel better – not as stiff, I have better movement, I feel less tired, I’m less backed up as things are um, moving again. If only my office would invest in a water cooler so I don’t have to keep buying from the cafeteria! I’ll have to talk to my boss!
I hope this helped you and maybe gave you some ideas on how to get your daily water intake!
As always, thanks for reading!
