What I Am Grateful For

It’s been a crazy year – probably one of the better years I’ve had in awhile! I want to run down all of the things I am thankful for. I’ve been hearing a lot lately about this concept of gratitude, which in definition means, to be thankful. This idea of feeling gratitude in daily life is associated with feeling positive emotions, having improved health, being able to deal with adversity and building strong relationships. I’ve been hearing a lot of talk about the benefits of living life with gratitude. A concept that sounds great in theory but when you’re in your life living it with all your short comings and all of the things that go wrong on a daily basis it becomes challenging to put this idea into effect.

Here is a list of what I am thankful for in the year 2019…

Gus and I got engaged on June 21, 2019!

My gram helped me finish a quilt that we started together five years ago!

We did some super fun activities with the girls this past year, especially over the summer!

The girls met my parents!

I went on an awesome vacation to St. Pete’s beach with my mom, aunt and cousin! – My aunt and cousin are speaking again!!

Joey has been doing really well this year for an old dog!

I’ve been able to spend some good time with friends!

My dad started re-doing the living room and is doing a great job!

My grandma did pass this year, but I am thankful that she is no longer suffering.

I quit smoking!

I love my work schedule! (Even though I don’t like the job.)

I’m getting more comfortable with being a step mom!

I’m thankful for our apartment! I think it is super cozy and I love it!

I am thankful we didn’t end up moving to North Carolina! It didn’t feel right to me and after hearing some news recently I am really glad I will be home this year!

I am thankful that Gus got to meet a lot of my family this year! (Still more to meet!)

I am thankful that Gus has made some amazing dinners and he continues to feed me!

I am thankful that Gus and I both have jobs and are able to take care of ourselves and each other.

I am glad and thankful that this year I have gotten to spend more time with Gus’ family!

I am mainly thankful for the people in my life! Gus, my parents, the girls and my friends!!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I will not be posting tomorrow due to the holiday – check back on Friday!

As always, thanks for reading!
