Some of you have probably heard the news involving the curl care company, DevaCurl, some of you haven’t. Basically, the company is receiving a lot of consumer backlash and they are currently under investigation for a lawsuit! The line in question is their No-Poo and One Conditioner. Women have reported hair loss, thinning hair, dandruff and frizzy hair due to hair cuticle damage. Women have also reported that their hair is less curly and becoming more of a wave.

I have been a long time user of the DevaCurl Supercream Coconut Curl Styler, I wrote about it in my ‘Best of 2019,’ blog! I myself haven’t noticed any hair loss out of the ordinary, I’ve always been someone who lost quite a bit of hair in the shower and I haven’t noticed thinning hair. I did read in a comment thread where someone mentioned before they had hair loss their hair was extremely dry and dried very quickly straight out of the shower. I have been noticing this more and more often now whereas my hair used to dry a lot slower. I am guessing this is happening because the product makes hair more porous which in turn will make it dry faster. I have also noticed my hair is a lot more frizzy without any product in it.

I had just reorder my Supercream a few days ago and made it just in time to cancel the order! Even though I have not noticed hair damage to the extent others have due to this company, I do not want to give my money to a company that is leaving countless women with bald spots and having to shave their heads! I am on the hunt for some ACTUAL good curl care products, I’m looking for good ingredients, organic if at all possible and something that will make my curls bounce back! If you know of anything let me know what it is in the comments below!
